UPDATE: 30th December 2020, the salon will be CLOSED from 31st December 2020 until further government guidance.
Tonic – Guidelines and processes for reopening & operating whilst protecting staff and clients against Covid-19. Please read in full prior to your appointment with us.
Reception Area
-
We will be operating a closed door policy. This means we are strictly appointment only to limit the flow of visitors in to the salon. We respectfully ask clients not to enter the building without an appointment. Making appointments, voucher purchasing and product purchasing can be done over the phone 01242 260425, via email info@tonic-cheltenham.com or via our website www.tonic-cheltenham.com
-
To enable social distancing, we will have no waiting room facilities at present. If possible, we ask that you arrive a few minutes early for your scheduled appointment time. Your therapist will come to the door at your appointment time and welcome you in. At this time, we will struggle to accommodate those that are early or late for their appointments. Please be aware if you are unable to make your allotted appointment time, we may have to reschedule you. Please also be aware that there will always be a team member in reception, they will NOT be able to open the door for you, even if they see you outside. We aren't ignoring you! We are just trying to minimize multiple person contact during your visit.
-
Please attend your appointment alone. We cannot accept friends/family/children in appointments because of the need to social distance. We just don't have the capacity in the salon currently for extra bodies!
-
There will be signs in the reception area to guide and help you to keep a 1+m social distance from our team members and other guests. We ask you to refrain from handling products on display; to prevent cross infection.
-
On arrival to the salon we request you wear a mask or face covering. This has now become compulsory to wear. If you have your own that you can bring then please do, if you do not, we have some available in the salon for you to purchase. Please do NOT come in wearing gloves. Gloves worn not in accordance with guidelines can actually help spread infection. We will then request you wash your hands on arrival to the salon and on exit.
-
You will be reminded of the Covid-19 pre-screening questions once again that you will have been sent 24 hours prior to your appointment. If you have a temperature, are generally unwell, have a persistent cough or are forced to self isolate then you must not come in to the salon.
Treatments and Treatment rooms
Enhanced Hygiene Procedures
-
We have added additional time after every treatment to allow the team to fully clean the treatment area and communal areas that have been used. Tools will be thoroughly disinfected after use and stored in sterile conditions between use.
-
Therapists will be wearing nitrile gloves for all required treatments, these will be changed after every client.
-
They will also be wearing a face visor and a mask as well where necessary during all treatments.
-
There are also tissues and hand sanitizer available in each treatment room and at each station for your use. If you sneeze/cough please use a tissue and bin the tissue immediately, then use hand sanitizer afterwards.
Vouchers
-
If you have a voucher that expired between the 23rd March 2020 and our reopening date, then we are happy to give a 3 MONTH EXTENSION from the date we reopen, to allow you to use your voucher. Please let us know when you book that you have a voucher and it's original expiry date.
-
Vouchers purchased for specific treatments, that we are no longer able to offer will be valid instead for the monetary value of the treatment at time of purchase. For example, we will be unable to offer the “Divine Duo” treatment at present. This will therefore be worth £65, which you are able to spend on other treatments instead.
-
If your voucher is for a treatment such as “1 hour Swedish massage” that has altered in price since it was purchased, we will honour the original purchase price and you will not be expected to pay extra.
Refreshment and Client Experience
-
To help prevent cross infection, at this time we will be unable to offer the usual client refreshments. There will be water in disposable cups available to you. Please do not bring food and drink into the salon, this is to help reduce cross infection.
-
We have changed the towels we use throughout your treatments. Because of the requirements to launder each towel on 60 degree wash cycle after every use, we do not have the capacity to achieve this in the salon. Therefore we have switched to single use towels for EVERY treatment. The towels are produced by a brand called Scrummi, and are fully biodegradable and proven to degrade between 8 – 12 weeks.
-
The magazines we usually have in the salon have been removed. You are invited to bring a phone/book/your own magazine if you wish.
-
Please only bring with you the bare necessities to your appointment, i.e. a small bag/phone/jacket. This is because we have little room to store items in accordance with government guidelines. You will be asked to place all outerwear in a sterile box and leave in reception.
-
Toilet – Our toilet will remain open, but please ensure after use, you have notified a member of staff. Between each use we will perform a full clean of the bathroom facilities; letting us know you have used our facilities will enable us to maintain rigorous hygiene standards.
-
We CANNOT accept cash payments. For now we ask that you pay via card or online. Ask a staff member for more information. We also ask that rebooking and voucher purchases be completed via phone or email after your appointment.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this document. I hope you understand these procedures are here to keep you and our staff members safe. If you have any questions, please do get in touch via email info@tonic-cheltenham.com or phone 01242 260425.
